As the director and owner of Sanctuary Medical Practice, I opened the first practice to provide medical services in Fletcher. I have a demonstrated commitment to the community of Fletcher, Maryland, Minmi, Edgeworth and Cameron Park. This committment includes building, mentoring and training the professional and caring team at Sanctuary Medical Practice Fletcher in order to provide the highest standard of medical services to this community.
Clinical Interests - Treatment of skin cancers and dermatology including minor surgery, Paediatric services, Travel Medicine, Antenatal share care, Men's Health and Preventative Medicine.

I gained my medical degree from Cardiff University, UK in 2006 and completed my GP
training in the UK in 2011. I have had extended experience in emergency medicine,
paediatrics and psychiatry. My specialist interests include paediatrics and
dermatology, in particular skin cancer medicine which I practice regularly. I completed a
Diploma in Dermatology (Cardiff University 2014) and also gained Certificates in Skin
Cancer Medicine (2017) and Dermoscopy (2016) from the Skin Cancer College of
Australasia. My family and I moved to Australia in 2012 and have called Newcastle home since 2014.

After further training as a General Practitioner I have returned to Fletcher as a permanent GP at Sanctuary Medical Practice Fletcher. I look forward to continuing to assist my current patients as well as providing GP Services to others in the area.
Along with my GP qualifications I have also gained the Diploma in Child Health and am also able to perform women's health services such as share care antenatal, IUD insertion and implanon.

Dr Nicola Pennell BMBS FRACGP DipRANZCOG
Is a graduate of Flinders University in Adelaide. She has lived in Perth since 2001 and has just moved to Newcastle in February 2018. Nicola is loving the relaxed lifestyle of Newcastle and is looking forward to getting to know the area.
She loves most areas of General Practice especially the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a person's health from start to finish. She has an interest in the care of infants and mothers and all aspects of pregnancy and postnatal care. She performs minor procedures and antenatal shared-care. Her other interests include mental health and diabetes.

Is a graduate of the University of Newcastle and has lived locally most of her life.
She has a broad range of skills in General Practice with a special interest in skin disorders, having done extra training with the Dermatology department at John Hunter Hospital. Also, performs minor procedures.
